Spring Cleaning

There are a multitude of rules, customs and rituals that are commonly practiced in the Chinese culture. Most times, paying heed to these makes my head spin so ! Every lunar new year, the yearly ritual of intense spring cleaning is one that no family member can escape. At least, none under the tyranny of a er …. military mother *cough cough*

I know this is uber random but here’s some tips I picked up on through the years of having to clean sofas and what nots around the house :

• Cloth STAINS. And getting those out sure isn’t fun !

• Anything velvety becomes a magnet for dust, but they’re oh-so-gorgeous to feel and have.

• Stick with darker colours. They’re more manageable, I’m sure the feng shui master likes light aura-laden, “ong” colours, but he’s not the one doing the maintenance is he ? But I digress…
